The previous year graced us with ‘floss’ dance moves and the strange Kiki challenge. This year has just begun, and while we can’t predict what will go viral, here’s a quick look at the things you can be sure to enjoy this year!

Travel destination of 2019

Sri Lanka, has been named the best country in the world to visit in 2019 by Lonely Planet. Better transport links, new hotels and a growing number of activities were cited as the reason the south-Asian island was chosen for the top spot in the guidebook publisher ’s annual Best in Travel awards. So may be, you should book your tickets and see what is making the country next door to us so enticing to travelers.

Super Blood Wolf Moon

The night of 20-21 January, will bring the only total lunar eclipse in 2019 and the last total lunar eclipse until 2021. It is called a wolf moon because it occurs at a time of year when wolves howl outside villages — and comes when the moon is slightly bigger and brighter because it’s at the closest point to Earth in its elliptical orbit. Unfortunately, it won’t be directly visible to in India but you can catch it online or on your television or if you are a true astronomical buff you could head to any country in the North Pacific and East Asia regions, these include China, Russia, and Taiwan.

Big entertainment

This year also marks the end of the mega-hit show ‘Game of Thrones’. The show has kept viewers on the edge for the past 7 seasons with unexpected plot twists, epic scenarios and yes, character deaths. The series finale teasers are already out and #ForTheThrone promises to be bigger than any season so far. So whether you’re rooting for Jon Snow or the mother of dragons, its time to brush up on the series before April which is when the finale is releasing which was two years in the making and will feature six episodes of almost 1.5 hours run time each.

It’s time to cheer for the boys in blue, with the biggest cricketing event slated to commence on 30th May 2019. This time, the ICC Cricket World Cup will be hosted by Wales and England.
